The Bergstrom Foundation is dedicated to tackling the urgent issue of youth and adolescent pregnancy in regions where young people, particularly girls, face significant obstacles. While the Foundation acknowledges the existence of underserved youth and adolescents across Latin America & the Caribbean and East & Southeastern Africa, its focus is on a select group of countries with the highest rates of youth and adolescent pregnancy. By strategically directing BF’s resources to these areas, the Foundation aims to create meaningful impact where it is most crucial. The selection process was grounded in comprehensive global data, ensuring that BF’s efforts are informed by both statistical insights and an understanding of local contexts.
